Last year, Jan and I repeatedly discussed new possibilities in our business. We often mentioned woodcarving schools and students of the art of woodcarving. In the end, we decided to visit one of these schools, so we went to the Světlá Academy. After short preparations, we packed our linden chips, chisels and printed materials, and took the train to Světlá nad Sázavou, where the head master, Mr. Hejkal, was impatiently waiting for us. It was our first meeting, and we were nervous. Thanks to my experience in production and business, I shared what I knew about working with wood. Honza invited everyone to try carving a figure for the nativity scene. After initial shyness, they got started and we were thrilled with how well everyone did. We already know that we have something to offer the students, and we are planning further trips so that we can pass on our experience. At the same time, we would like to discover talented students with whom we could establish further cooperation. We believe that our experience and their enthusiasm can together bring interesting projects and new opportunities in the field of woodcarving. We look forward to what the future brings and what talents we will meet on the way.
